Many towns along the Chesapeake offer two-hour cruises aboard historic or wooden sailing vessels. Some benefits of day charters include booking tickets after you know the weather forecast and being able to spontaneously plan an outing. This Log Book will chronical the adventures of Therapy and its crew as we explore the Great Lakes, learn about sailing and the sailing community, and most of all, have fun. We manage to squeeze as many sailing trips into the short northern Ohio summer as we can and look forward to more sailing in the Chesapeake Bay and possibly the British Virgin Islands.

Here is a collection of true accounts of the Chesapeake gathered from the lips and memories of the people who experienced them, from clipping files and ship registers, and from the author's own extensive collection -- people and places, shipbuilding, steamboating, oyster dredging, natural history -- the whole panoply of Bay lore.

The Chesapeake Bay, immortalized by so many writers, artists, sailors, and naturalists, is a truly magical destination along the coastal shores of the United States. It is by far the largest estuary with the most coastline of any other Bay within our lands. In fact, miles of shoreline is more than the entire coastline of the US.
